If China were going to intercede directly on behalf of Iran, they would have done so by now. The same applies to Russia. They may well be providing some support, in some underlying manner, supplying drones, and whatever else they can slip into the Islamic Republic by way of logistics. But attacking the United States directly, that seems a stretch, especially given the military flex we have just shown in the Middle East.
